Genetics...

It must be possible to inherit the trait of woodheadedness (if that's not a word, I just made that up). Case in point. This morning, after I had gotten Will up for school, I was in my bedroom putting some things away and came out to find that he's sitting on the couch not dressed, doing nothing. I asked him, WTF?? (well, not those exact words, but you get the idea). He said that he was waiting for the dishwasher to be done so he could have breakfast. Huh? Apparently there were no cereal bowls that were clean (we're down to 7 from the 12 we had at one point), they were all in the dishwasher. So he felt that he needed to run the dishwasher (okay, he gets credit points for being able to put the soap tab in and turn it on) and wait for it to be done in order to eat breakfast and start getting ready for school. Again, huh?? There are soup bowls in the cabinet that he could use, not to mention the myriad plastic storage containers that we have that would suit the purpose of a cereal bowl. I mean, who would sit hungry, waiting for the dishwasher to be finished so you could eat and then get ready for school????!!! His father, that's who. It is so exactly like his father to only think of the most difficult solution to a problem. There's never an easy way, only the most difficult and inconvenient way. You know, it's really annoying when your child inherits one of your own bad traits (well....a little cute, too, "aw....they're so much like me"), but when it's not your bad trait that they've inherited, it's really annoying! Kind of frightening, too, the thought that he may never change! Yikes!

Have a great weekend!

yay, Cyn! I'm here at YOUR blog! I've found blogging to be quite a good "outlet" for things although I just wish I had a few more minutes here and there to think about stuff.

As for the bowl in the dishwasher- too funny. I seriously think it is a guy thing. They just don't get it.

last night, dh put something away in the fridge for me but left out 3 other items that DEFINITELY needed to be refrigerated. He always reminds me he's not a mind reader, but how about some common sense, right?

anyway, have a good weekend!
