Bench Monday: back to school edition...221/365

This could have alternately been called "Bench Monday: sneaking into the only open classroom after talking your teenage daughter into it, turning on the light, taking a couple of quick shots and dashing out the door edition."

Tonight was registration for my daughter's sophomore year at her high school (year 10). This is her first year at this huge school, as last year she was at the Freshman Center. So, after she got her class schedule, she wanted to walk to each of her classes so that she would know where to go next week. During the day today, I thought what a great Bench Monday shot it would be to take one standing on a desk chair in a classroom. Well, as we walked to her first few classes, we found that none of the classroom doors were open. That was until we walked past this one room. After we passed it, I said to my daughter, let's go and take a quick shot in there. At first she protested, then she smiled and turned to head back to the classroom - she's my girl! As we approached the room, a maintenance man was coming down the hallway and we thought for sure he was headed to that room, so we walked casually away and pretended to be trying to open a locker. After he passed the room up, we turned around and dashed in. The room was pretty dark, I got my camera set up and asked her to flip the light switch. I checked my settings, aimed, climbed on the chair and took two quick shots while Claire said, "quick, someone's coming!" Turned out no one was coming and we quickly made our escape. We laughed as we finished walking her class schedule and we never saw another open classroom. To finish off our night, we stopped for iced passion tea at the Starbucks drive-through (she has lemonade in hers). It was a fun night!

Happy Bench Monday, everyone!!
