Don't put off until tomorrow....

I am one of the worst procrastinators and I just got another tough reminder not to do so. On Friday I found out that my Godfather had passed suddenly. I've had his last Christmas card, in which he had included his email address, sitting here by my desk. I intended to send him an email updating him about my life's happenings and hoping to start an email correspondence. Sadly, I never got around to it. He was 74, same age as my dad would have been. My father grew up with him and he was my father's best friend which is why he was chosen to be my godfather. In all my 48 years, he hasn't forgotten to acknowledge a birthday, Christmas or anniversary. When I was a child he always presented me with a well-thoughtout and unique gift. And he always drove out a long distance to deliver it. He contantly managed to make me feel special, which was quite a feat considering that [at the time] I had six siblings with whom I had to vie for attention. I still have one of the gifts he had given me. It was a book from the "new" movie, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Original book from the movie

I loved that movie, loved the book, loved Dick VanDyke and loved Uncle Frank........

Don't wait 'til tomorrow........

Cyn, just wanted to tell you again how sorry I am about your godfather. I'm off to call someone I don't talk to often enough, just to tell her I love her....

Hugs,
Marissa

I am so sorry to hear about your godfather, but at the same time, happy to hear that you had this person in your life.
