filling up my tank...{17/52}

Just four days before, I decided to take a road trip on Saturday to Pennsylvania by myself to crash my friend's wedding. It was an eight-hour drive that went smoothly. I arrived an hour and a half before the start of the ceremony. I parked in the church parking lot and walked around taking a few pictures. I found that the church was open (and air-conditioned), so I went inside to change my clothes and freshen up.

Back to the parking lot to grab my gear and have a bite to eat before heading back inside to wait. I was standing in the parking lot when a car pulled in and parked in front of the church. It was my friend, Marissa, and two of her children. They proceeded to open the back hatch and gather things to bring inside. I ran over to her and asked if she needed any help. She glanced quickly and said that she had everything under control, but did a quick double-take and shouted, "Cyn!! What are you doing here??!!" and hugging and smiling ensued!

I helped her get her things inside and left her to finish getting ready. The ceremony was absolutely beautiful and the pastor who officiated made it even more touching that it already would have been. I was so happy that I had made the decision to come and witness their vows.

I opted out of dinner at the reception and instead, took a drive around the area and found this farm. I thought it was abandoned, so I nearly jumped out of my skin when I heard something that sounded like a dog! Thankfully, it turned out to be some chickens who were pretty much minding their own business.

I went back to the reception where the DJ was already playing and people had started dancing. I hadn't missed the first dances or the cutting of the cake. I was able to visit with several people who really made the evening a great time.

I left for home the following day, after sleeping in a little and taking my time getting going. I found a Starbucks in the next town (I always have to visit a local Starbucks when I'm out of town! My own little tradition!) and then set my GPS to avoid the tollways. I was able to drive through a lot of quaint little towns and take in so much of the scenery.

Being by myself, I was able to stop whenever, wherever and for as long as as little as I pleased. I was also able to listen to whatever I wanted to on my iPod and sing out loud (and I do mean loud) to all my favorite tunes. It was a wonderful two days and something that really filled my soul. I didn' t realize how much I needed that.

When I saw this orange truck, I couldn't pass it up! Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!
