So here's how it was...

It was a very nice time. We met at the restaurant, talked some and then ordered breakfast. The food was excellent and the place was as quaint as it sounded. Old building with high ceilings, quilts hung on the walls that gave it a warm feeling, antique furnishings. Really lovely. And Zach complimented me on my choice. Googler of the year! ;) Here's a picture of the outside of the building. I haven't gotten over a feeling of awkwardness taking random photos of the insides of places.

Old Stone Cafe

We talked and talked and talked and talked. Then we went walking down the street and back, then down by the canal and looked at these really old, historic buildings - and talked some more. It was almost noon when we parted with a hug. I didn't feel a "love connection" (anyone remember that show?), but it was still nice. Oh! We split the bill. He asked if he could get the bill and I said, oh let's split it and he said okay. He could have argued with me a little! ;) kekekeke

Edited to add: At the very least, it fit my goal of meeting up with an old friend on the weekends that the kids are with Brad!

Yay! It sounds like it was a great morning! Actually, it sounds perfect! Glad you had a good time and the place looks so nice; I might have to google some place 'round here. I'm in the mood for quaint! :)

It sounds nice, even without a love connection. And yes, I loved that show!

Ok, so no immediate love connection...will there be another chance for a nice time together?

Getting out sans kids is worth it - especially when you have a great morning (love connection or not).
