Lunch, Glenn Miller and Starbucks...

This afternoon, I had lunch at one of my favorite places, Leona's. Favorite because they have some vegan offering and their food is just plain good. It always has been. I went with my friend, Jody, who I just love for many, many reasons. One of the reasons is that we made plans for lunch today weeks ago, and neither of us has double-checked or even just checked with each other since we first made those plans. The only thing that was up in the air about today was the time and we decided that this morning. I just love that I can count of her to remember that she's made a commitment. We both trust in each other, that when we say we'll be there - we'll be there. I am so very grateful that I can count on her. It's such a blessing to have her as a friend. It was great to visit with her and to introduce her to one of my favorite places.

After lunch, I stopped to pick up my mom. For her birthday, I had gotten her tickets to the Glenn Miller Orchestra and today was the performance. Part of me was like, can't you find someone else to go? But I really enjoyed it. First of all, I enjoyed spending the time with my mom and, secondly, I really enjoyed the performance. I just tried to soak in the happiness around me. The people in the audience (average age, probably 80) were so pleased to be there, and the performers seemed to love what they do. And the music wasn't bad at all - I loved all the horns! Here's a picture from the performance...

Afterward, we stopped at another of my favorite places - you guessed it - Starbucks. Mom had a Caramel Macchiato and I had a latte - both decaf. It was a nice way to end the evening. Now it's back to the routine of the week days.
