337/365

I have a lot of favorite Christmas songs, but one of my very favorites is Bing Crosby's White Christmas. I love it, I love his voice, and I love the movie. I left work at 11:30 (still not knowing what I was going to shoot) and it had started snowing enough to need to brush off my car and it's predicted to continue through the night and into tomorrow for a total of 4 to 6 inches. I drove past this farm that I've driven by many times and thought about stopping for a photo. The flood light is pretty good and the barn is great so I turned right around and went back.

This was pretty much the best that I could do given the circumstances: 1) I had my camera resting on my car emergency kit box, 2) it was snowing outside and my camera was getting wet, 3) because the light was coming from behind me and I was shadowed, my lens just could not lock focus on me, so I ended up having to focus on the barn and using the 10-second timer, 4) it was cold, 5) it was 11:50, and 6) I was trespassing.

But I'm actually not dreaming of a White Christmas. I'd be quite happy with warm sunshine and palm trees.
