Motivation for today.....
Well, I had a productive weekend. I purged my closet and it's totally cleaned and organized! Yay! Slowly, but surely, I'm getting things in order. Granted, not fast enough for my taste but at least I see myself moving forward. And that's the best I can hope for these days. Today I'm wearing my "motivation" bracelet......
The story behind this is that when we were camping, on our last night, the girls were busy making jewelry that they planned to sell. They each had a certain kind of jewelry to make. My niece, Jordyn's "job" was to make necklaces (brilliant of the other two girls to give the long, tedious job to the youngest one of the bunch :S) Anyway, Jordyn had this long necklace going and her sister had to go to the bathroom. Claire wouldn't go with her, so Jordyn happily volunteered to go with. She set her necklace on her sleeping bag and when they came back, she picked it up at the wrong end and most of the beads fell off. She was devastated. She cried while we all gathered up her beads. She held up the long piece of cord with only a few beads left, sobbed and said, "Aunt Cindy, I was making this for you for a thank you." It was heart-breaking. She managed to compose herself and start restringing the beads. She was working with the plastic beads and asked them to pass her the glass beads and I thought to myself....whatever, I couldn't imagine how it was going to look all mixed up like that. She finished and asked me to tie it off for her and she gave it to me. It was beautiful!! At the time, I was laying down reading and I didn't want it to get lost, so I wrapped it around my wrist. I told her that every time that I wear it, I will think of her and of our trip. I told her that I will also think about how she persevered and did not let herself get discouraged and it will remind me to do the same. I told her that I would never have thought about mixing the two different kinds of beads, but she did and it was beautiful! I told her that when I wear it, it will also remind me to think outside the box.
That's my story for the day. Gotta get ready for school. Think outside the box today!
